Rev. Dr. Sun Joo Lee, pastor
She was born and raised in South Korea, where she majored in Art and Craft in college. Initially aspiring to become a lighting designer, she moved to New York to pursue that dream. However, her growing curiosity about theology, along with encouragement from others, led her to attend seminary. There, she sensed a call to ministry and was ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2020.

She served in the Korean Reformed Church in America for nine years in Bayside, NY. Since 2015, she has served churches in the NY/CT District and the CT District as both a provisional and ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. As of July 2025, she has been appointed by Bishop Thomas Bickerton to serve as pastor of First United Methodist Church of Greenwich and New Life Korean United Methodist Church.

She desires to love the Lord with all her heart, alongside God’s people, to expand the kingdom of God by becoming and making disciples of Jesus Christ. She is excited to grow and be transformed each day with the church members she serves, striving together toward Christian perfection.

Her first and favorite Bible verse is:
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (ESV):
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

She enjoys interpreting the Bible and artworks, taking long walks, hiking, and cooking.
